Power Generation Thermo-electric Modules

Feature

Power generation thermo-electric modules can directly convert heat into electricity with no moving parts as long as there is a temperature difference between both ends of the module. They utilize waste heat and can be used for a wide range of applications including small power generators and power generators used in remote areas where high reliability is required. Power generation thermo-electric modules of NORD are bismuth telluride modules proven in cooling applications. They can be used at a normal temperature of 180℃ or less continuously, or at a transient temperature of 210℃. (Refer to the table below for main properties. The properties are taken at 175℃ on the high temperature side and 50℃ on the low temperature side.) The conversion efficiency of the power generation thermo-electric modules is about 3% under the conditions. Efficiency is expressed as Wload (output) (W)/Qhot (heat flow) (W).

SCTB NORD (Russia) joined the group as a consolidated subsidiary of China Advanced Ceramic Corporation in August 2005. The company is a manufacturer of thermo-electric modules with industry-leading technology, and focuses on the development, manufacturing, and sales of "high performance" and "long-life" thermo-electric modules.

■ Remarks

  • Open circuit voltage (Voc) is the output voltage when no load is connected to power generation thermo-electric module.
  • The optimum load resistance is equal to the internal resistance of power generation thermo-electric module .
  • Output voltage and output voltage change depending on load resistance.
